When we learn to be compassionate with ourselves, we bring more compassion to eachother, our families, our communities and the world.
Through our book selection and various multi-media including podcasts, articles and yoga philosophy we will explore the topic of compassion as a way to inspire personal growth and social change.
This not-for-profit course is designed to create a community space to generate awareness about social issues in our external world and provide reflective practices that support change internally.
CHARITY OF CHOICE - all profits are donated to charity with each unit.

This course is a response to the massive changes occurring in our social climate. Its purpose is to create a community space to generate awareness of current issues, and share resources that help people move through the fear of change with grace, compassion, and intention.
We explore a range of topics through meditation, media, guest speakers and charitable donations.
This endeavour will create a network of support for individuals and groups through education, reflective practices, holding and facilitating of safe spaces for mindful discussions. The intention is to facilitate activism and social change on a personal and collective level where we are co-creating a new relationship of thriving for everyone.
Topics change each month and are chosen so the course alternates between active social issues in our external world, and reflective practices that support change internally.
First topic was Anti-Racism - we donated $350 to the Hamilton Centre for Civic Inclusion
Second topic was Love - we donated $200 to West Niagara Community Cares

You are invited to deeply explore topics of social change.
Each month includes:
* 1 purposeful book selection
* supplementary thought-provoking media resources including podcasts, docs/films & articles focused on the monthly topic will be shared throughout the month
* 1 guided meditation
* Guest speakers
* 1 book club meeting
* Facebook Group for online learning & topic dialogue
*portion of tuition donated to a local charity, relevant to each month's topic.

IMPORTANT DATES FOR COMPASSION
The course is facilitated online through a Facebook Group and book club. The following dates we meet in person (optional):

Materials will be shared throughout the month in the Facebook Group. Your engagement in the group is encouraged!
We want to create a safe space for our community to explore and learn about important social issues and internal change considerations. We are students of change with you in the course. The books, media materials, guest speakers and fellow participants are our guides. At The Yoga Vine we are passionate about facilitating collective opportunities for personal and community growth.
